Operation Genesis fans rejoice! Microsoft had a nice surprise for us during their pre-Gamescom briefing, with the surprise announcement of Jurassic World Evolution, a spiritual successor to the much loved 2003 theme park builder (and maybe the best Australian game of all time).

Made by Frontier Developments, the team behind Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 and Planet Coaster, Jurassic World Evolution will be a new dinosaur-based theme park builder based on the 2015 reboot Jurassic World. You’ll have to create the most amazing theme park the world has ever seen, allowing your guests to come face to face with the dangerous reptiles of the past. Perform bioengineering to develop new species, keep your guests happy, and keep your staff alive. It’ll be released alongside the second film in the reboot franchise, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.

Jurassic World Evolution is scheduled for a (Northern hemisphere) summer 2018 release for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
